In the latest IDC report, Apple is still ahead of all other Tech companies when it comes to selling tablets.  iPad’s hold two-thirds of the tablet market, after Apple shipped 17 million in the second quarter.  Total Tablet shipments only reached 27 million last quarter, so you can see how much Apple is ahead of other companies.  Behind Apple is Amazon and Samsung but they only sold 1.25 million and 2.39 million devices respectively.

Apple has been rising the ranks of the PC market as well, and was ranked number 1 in that market last year.  The number 1 spot though is not completely accurate as that number included iPad’s as PC’s which is why Apple could beat out Microsoft and hoter companies.  It is unlikely that Apple will lose the number 1 tablet spot any time soon since they still offer some of the best features, price and of course they were the first to enter the Tablet market so that helps.
