As part of their shift away from the mobile market, Texas Instruments is cutting 1,700 jobs.  This cut will be spread across their worldwide locations but so far we do not know when these layoffs will actually occur.

Texas Instruments says that between the layoffs and other spending cuts, they will save $450 million per year by the end of 2013.
