DirecTV will be increasing their prices for most of their customers by 4.5 percent starting on February 7, 2013. ]

DirecTV is increasing their rates by 4.5 percent

This price increase comes as a result of programming costs, which according to DirecTV, have gone up eight percent.  And, even after the price hikes, they wanted to make sure that people realize their rates are still going to be less than their cable competitors.
