Windows 8 continues to gain market share
While it might not have been as successful of a launch as Microsoft was hoping for, Windows 8 has steadily gained traction among users. Windows 8 gained more market share during December bringing it to 1.72% of the market, while Windows 7 still controls the majority at 45.11%.

It is interesting to note that Windows XP still has a 39.08% share of the OS market, which is amazing considering how “out-dated” people consider it to now be.
