Google posts record revenue
Google’s fourth quarter 2012 revenue statistics were released today, surpassing all expectations. Google posted a whooping $14.4 billion in revenue for the quarter, making 2012 the first $50 billion revenue year for Google.
Google CEO Larry Page made the following statement about the record revenue stats:
“We ended 2012 with a strong quarter…Revenues were up 36% year-on-year, and 8% quarter-on-quarter. And we hit $50bn in revenues for the first time – not a bad achievement in just a decade and a half.”
As a whole, 2012 was a very impressive year for Google even though they didn’t always meet expectations, the fact that they had a $50 billion year made 2012 very good for Google.
