Tumblr has updated its posting functionality to make it look much the same way as a visitor would see the post after it has been published (as well as make it more like Twitter.)   This change will make it a bit easier to make quick updates.

Tumblr has slimmed down the posting function to make it easier, as well as make it look more like the published post will.

There will be a lack of advanced features however since Tumblr really wanted to slim down the mechanics for making posts, but all the necessary features will still be there.
