UPnP Standard warns of a bug for all devices
Bugs are widely reported to be a source of exploitation for hackers. Tens of millions of personal devices are vulnerable to these attacks. The number of personal devices range to include computers, printers, and storage drives. Many devices are known products by manufacture giants like Belkin, D-Link, Cisco Systems Inc’s Linksys division and Netgear.
The problems are due to vulnerability weak spots identified in the UPnP standard. The flaws allows hackers to potentially access confidential files, passwords, and full control of PCs. Rapid7 advises device users to disable all UPnP connections until manufacturers release software updates to fix the UPnP vulnerability problems immediately.
