LG Electronics has reached 10 million worldwide LTE-enabled smartphone sales according to their announcement today.  Only six months ago, that sales number was at just 5 million, so doubling their sales in 6 months is quite impressive.

LG’s CEO Jong-seok Park said the following about their achievement:

Aggressive pushing forward with 4G LTE technology allows LG satisfy the needs of consumers and is a huge factor in our growing success in global LTE smartphone sales…Having established ourselves as a major industry player, we will continue to expand our footprint in the global LTE market with a wider range of differentiated, high quality LTE smartphones

This increase in LTE smartphone sales is likely due to further expansion into the US, Japan, Germany and Sotuh Korean markets.  Looking forward to this year, LG hopes to double its LTE smartphone sales as these types of phones become more popular.
